The "Everyone" feed

You can now view a chronological feed of all public lists, reviews, and posts on the Home page. Select the arrow next to "Memorycard" to choose which feed you want to view.

Hide statuses from "All"

You can now hide certain statuses like "Wishlist" from the "All" tab in your Library. Find it in the filters section labeled "Always hide."

Better game pages

Game pages have been improved to now include the most recent trailer, more screenshots at a glance, and some other small improvements.

Play sessions are now playthroughs

The name "play sessions" has been changed to "playthroughs" to better reflect what it is.

The "Shelved" status has been changed to "Paused" throughout the app.

Bulk actions in the Library

Bulk select games to change status, add to list, or remove from library. On mobile, select the three-dot icon > Select games to start. On desktop, select Select.

Hold-for-action everywhere

Hold down on a game to get a menu of quick actions like rating or changing status anywhere in the app.

Spoiler tag comments

You can now put a spoiler tag on any comment.

Other improvements

• Sort and filter options are now consistent across the app.

As the summer comes to an end, we think this game will be a great closer to the season. Ape Out was an intense game, and we wanted to follow it up with something lighter, especially with the barrage of games releasing this month. A Short Hike won the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the 2020 Independent Games Festival Awards. It's short, pleasant, and a perfect game to end the summer with.

Add multiple platforms per game

You can now select multiple platforms per game to where you own it or where you played it.

Sort and filter lists

You can now sort and filter any unranked, public list.

Delete your own Home activity

You can now delete any of your own Home activity. For example, if you accidentally set a game to "Playing," you can now remove that Home item.

Other improvements

• The release calendar has been improved with better game recommendations. Your "Want to Play" games are always prioritized.
• Games with multiple editions now show all platforms on the base game. This is dependent on the database's classification of "editions," not all games are structured the same way.
• YouTube links now embed correctly in posts.
• "You may also like" games have been improved across the board.
• Other small improvements.

Ya like jazz? We chose this game for August because we wanted to end the summer with a bang. Rip and tear through your captors to incredible jazz music while using said captors as your weapons.

Follow recommendations

Discover now suggests people to follow based on your library. If you'd rather not show up in other people's suggestions, a new privacy setting lets you opt out.

Steam import

In Settings > Account > Import games, import your Steam games as a private list. Your existing library stays untouched and you can pull in your wishlist too. Use the new bulk action functionality in lists to add these games to your Library.

Better lists

Enter selection mode to add several games at once instead of one at a time, and turn on "Show my activity" to see status badges and your own ratings on any list. Lists also now hold up to 2,000 games.

Link previews

Links embed in posts now. Plain URLs are now tappable as well.

• See who rated a game by tapping the overall rating on a game page.
• Timestamp accuracy has been improved across the app.

Comments

You can now reply directly to any comment for threaded conversations, attach a photo or a GIF, and sort a thread by oldest, newest, or top. The composer opens full-screen and quotes what you're replying to. It works the same across posts, reviews, lists, and activity.

A redesigned profile

You can now add a banner image, the header collapses smoothly as you scroll, and your name and stats are bigger and easier to read.

Feeds

Every game now has its own feed. Open the new Feeds page from the Home header to see your games, then pick one and read all of its public posts and reviews in one place.

Improved Library

Your mobile Library is now focused on your games. Reviews, posts, and lists are now exclusively on your profile. Games can also now be sorted, filtered, searched, and viewed in a grid or a list.

Smoother video

Video posts play better everywhere.

• Like and comment when someone rates, starts, or finishes a game.
• Post a GIF from the built-in GIF search in comments and posts.
• Tap any image in the feed to open it full-screen.

We chose it for July as the 2026 World Cup wraps up this month. Despelote is a semi-autobiographical game set in 2001 in Quito, Ecuador as the country comes close to qualifying for the World Cup. You play as eight-year-old Julián, kicking a ball through the city and having conversations with people as you go. It's a game about childhood, soccer, and remembering the feeling of a specific point in your life.

Browse

The new browse page lets you filter and sort every game on Memorycard by genre, platform, player mode, release year, and time to beat, then sort the results by rating, popularity, release date, and more. Find it on the Discover page.

Personalized release calendar

The Discover page now has a release calendar showing recently released and upcoming games picked for you, based on your library and Want to Play.

Richer game pages

Game pages now have an expandable Details section: time to beat, player modes, where to buy, age ratings, trailers, and more. The "Friends Who Played This" section got a rework too with a "Show all" button.

This game is essentially a pop album you play. Ride motorcycles, skateboard, dance battle, shoot lasers, wield swords, and break hearts at 200 miles per hour.

We chose this game for Pride because of its importance to the LGBTQ+ gaming community and its celebration of queerness. Khee Hoon Chan for Rock Paper Shotgun described it as "a euphoric and unexpectedly emotive experience, brimming with explicitly queer and feminine energy fortified by its bisexual lighting filter of pink, purple and blue, and an electropop soundtrack influenced by the likes of Charli XCX and Chvrches."

You can now post about any game in your library. Posts can be quick thoughts, reactions, updates for the games you're currently playing, or anything else you can think of. Unlike reviews, posts are unlimited. You can post as many times as you want about any game.

Not sure what to play next? This new quiz recommends games based on your answers. Find it on the Discover page.

Timeline

Every game now has its own Timeline page, showing all your activity with a game. This includes reviews, posts, play sessions, and status changes.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. Skating through the Underworld to Blood Cultures is one of the sickest gaming experiences I've ever had. It's the kind of game that stays with you. I keep wanting to come back to it.

Why I made it

I track my movies on Letterboxd and my books on Goodreads, but I don't track my games anywhere. Which is funny, because I spend more time with video games than I do with movies or books.

So I started searching. I tried basically every game tracker out there, but none of them fit what I was looking for. I wanted a simple, social game tracker. Every game tracker treats games like a task. I want games to be something to be remembered and shared.

What makes it different

Memorycard is not about completing your backlog. Games are not a to-do list. Memorycard is for remembering what you've played, and sharing your love of games with people who appreciate them in the same way. Everything I have built and will build feeds into this idea. Game tracking should be simple, thoughtful, and centered around sharing with others.

Features available today include:

• Simple tracking, with optional depth: Three core statuses (Playing, Want to Play, Played) make tracking simple. If you want depth, each core status has optional substatuses for more granularity. You can also select what platform you own each game on.
• Ratings and reviews: Rate games using a star system (with half-stars), and leave reviews on games with Markdown support.
• Lists: Create ranked or unranked lists for anything you can imagine. So far, I've made lists for my top 10 games of all time, games I'm excited for in 2026, and my ranking of the Disney-era Star Wars games.
• Social: Follow friends to view their favorites, play history, games, lists, reviews, and posts. Keep up with their activity on the Home page.
• Personalized recommendations: As you add games to your library, recommendations tailored to your taste will appear on the Discover page.
• Shareable images for everything: Download high-resolution image versions of your reviews, lists, game statuses, and favorites. Your favorites image shows your four favorite games of all time, along with how many games you've played and reviewed.
• Personalization: Choose from eight colors that change the theme of the whole app and every image you export.
• Privacy and safety: You can use Memorycard fully solo. You can make your profile private and even hide it from search entirely. You can also download your data, so you're never locked in.
• Game of the Month: Play a new Game of the Month (GOTM) every month with other Memorycard users. The first pick is Skate Story for May 2026.

There are even more features, but I wanted to just give you an idea of what the app is. I can't wait to add to and refine these features over time, and I welcome all feedback.

What's next
