Memorycard is now available on iOS, Android, and desktop web. I'm so excited to share it with everyone. I wanted to start Memorycard's life with a bit about why I created it, and what makes it different.

Why I made it

I track my movies on Letterboxd and my books on Goodreads, but I don't track my games anywhere. Which is funny, because I spend more time with video games than I do with movies or books.

So I started searching. I tried basically every game tracker out there, but none of them fit what I was looking for. I wanted a simple, social game tracker. Every game tracker treats games like a task. I want games to be something to be remembered and shared.

What makes it different

Memorycard is not about completing your backlog. Games are not a to-do list. Memorycard is for remembering what you've played, and sharing your love of games with people who appreciate them in the same way. Everything I have built and will build feeds into this idea. Game tracking should be simple, thoughtful, and centered around sharing with others.

Features available today include:

Simple tracking, with optional depth: Three core statuses (Playing, Want to Play, Played) make tracking simple. If you want depth, each core status has optional substatuses for more granularity. You can also select what platform you own each game on.
Ratings and reviews: Rate games using a star system (with half-stars), and leave reviews on games with Markdown support.
Lists: Create ranked or unranked lists for anything you can imagine. So far, I've made lists for my top 10 games of all time, games I'm excited for in 2026, and my ranking of the Disney-era Star Wars games.
Social: Follow friends to view their Memory Card, timeline, games, lists, and reviews. Keep up with their activity on the Home page.
Personalized recommendations: As you add games to your library, recommendations tailored to your taste will appear on the Discover page.
Shareable images for everything: Download high-resolution image versions of your reviews, lists, game statuses, and Memory Card. Your Memory Card is a shareable snapshot of your gaming taste. It shows what you're currently playing, your favorite games, your top genre, and some other stats.
Personalization: Choose from eight colors that change the theme of the whole app and every image you export.
Privacy and safety: You can use Memorycard fully solo. You can make your profile private and even hide it from search entirely. You can also download your data, so you're never locked in.
Game of the Month: Play a new Game of the Month (GOTM) every month with other Memorycard users. The first pick is Skate Story for May 2026.

There are even more features, but I wanted to just give you an idea of what the app is. I can't wait to add to and refine these features over time, and I welcome all feedback.

What's next

I've got a 12-month roadmap ready to go, and will share it on this blog soon. However, I'm open to feedback and am happy to reprioritize and make updates where needed. Please don't hesitate to reach out on Bluesky or submit feedback through the app (Settings > About > Submit feedback).
