@8018_301's review of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
★
Very disappointing. Instead of adding meaningful new content, a lot of the game feels copied from the first Tomodachi Life while also removing features and places that helped each session feel different. One of my favourite things about the original was those moments where the unexpected would happen. In Living the Dream, that feeling is mostly gone as the same interactions and cutscenes repeat constantly. Island customisation sounds good on paper, but the custom buildings never match the quality of the default ones. On top of that, wishes themselves are limited. There are not enough ground types, interactive objects, and features like shop upgrades. Once you’ve unlocked everything there is to unlock, wishes stack up, and there’s nothing you can do with them. By then, taking care of your miis becomes optional. Nintendo could have easily made the game better by adding what’s missing from the previous entry or expanding on the systems implemented.
