I didn't play the previous Splatoon games because they were mainly online games, but seeing that this one is a PvE game, I decided it would be fun to try something new. Splatoon Raiders is great for what it is - quick 8–10 minute missions, without complicated mechanics or a deep story. Progression is the strongest part of the game. You constantly get upgrades, power up your character and unlock new weapons. I went with a turret build and it was really enjoyable to watch my turret help me destroy enemies. With upgrades, you can even have two turrets at once. I didn't like maybe the last 5% of the game before the final boss. I had to grind my level to beat the last few missions, which felt like a chore. The final boss though was great. The absurdly over the top anime style cutscenes and the final battle left a good taste after beating the main story. It's a solid game, especially for playing a few missions here and there when you're waiting for something and have a few minutes to spare.
