10/10 - This game is so incredibly unique in its gameplay and its story. The game is centered around 1960s Japan, and the experience is so uniquely feminine in a way I really connected with. Hinako’s struggle with being treated like a woman, rather than a person, is something I think every girl can relate to. Hinako’s story surrounding her childhood trauma and her reliance on pills was so interesting and unique, especially how it affected her arranged marriage. The themes of misogyny throughout the game made the game really touching to me. I loved the melee focused combat as well as the environmental story-telling, especially with the fog monster and the corrupted flowers spreading through her village as she loses touch with her childhood self. Such an incredible story.
