The game is fun at it's core, I guess also by the scope and non-linear storytelling quite revolutionary for it's time. However, it is dated and I believe that the lousy mechanics would've bothered me even if I played it in 1998. I played textual games, adventures before "point and click", games with severe problems with logic, RTS games with bad AI and where units kind of never listened to your commands, but I never experienced a game that had all of these annoying features at the same time and map movement that outdone them all. Still, it is fun, I recommend to everybody to try it. Just be patient and in mood for an adventure.
