@dado7's review of Sensible World of Soccer

My gosh, what a game! Before FIFA took the throne and then PES came, which really finally substituted SWOS for us, there were multiple 3D-ish attempts at football games, but this top-down classic outdid them by far. Unlike many others (Kick off etc.) this one had a bit more control, the tempo felt right and while there were still some ridiculous things included, a huge database of players and gameplay really turned it into a huge hit. We had so much fun with this one, I will always remember our birthday tournaments when we played against each other in groups and than elimination phase, each player with their own unique style. Too bad this one was featured on Amiga only and on Atari we had Sensible soccer with a bit different feel and a smaller database (still, I was only too happy when that one came). It also had an editor and a possibility to play a career, as a player, or as a manager (we still remember that huge cross next to the severely injured player). It was a total football after total football and before PES/FIFA and Football manager.
