Final Fantasy IX As with every final fantasy on this list, as soon as that main theme hits in the credits. Ive realised how much these games mean to me. Finding an insane amount of happiness in reliving my childhood brings an Incredibly mixed bag of emotions with this one. Lots of positive Nostalgia, joy, love, and acceptance in this tale of finding ones place in the universe. In what presents itself as a "lighter hearted" outing, there is a surprising amount of sadness in this one. Characters dying, (vivi my boy :'[) and many are forced into accepting their own mortality leaves this game with a very strange relationship with death. I could understand this not being a game for everyone. The gameplay is as safe as its ever been in a final fantasy game and I find it a little disappointing you don't get the final characters in your party until disc 2/3. The characters not being able to switch role is a major negative for me on this one. I do understand why it fits the story more, but it does make me a little sad. One thing I do enjoy is the music. Another banger from nobou yet again. Story 7/10 Gameplay 7/10 Music 10/10 Satisfaction 9/10 Characters 10/10 Overall 43/50
