The second most anticipated game for me behind remake. And let me tell you that opening, playing as sephiroth, the magical town and being introduced to Queens blood, I was so stoked..and then at 8ish hrs in the grasslands, I thought about dropping it. I was so conditioned from games in the past to explore every surface of a zone to find hidden treasures, gear or weapons...and to be met with absolutely nothing. I felt like I was trapped and annoyed. I really enjoyed the combat loop and playing as everyone but often times through the playthrough I had to remind myself to go back to the story which was so captivating. I felt like I had to complete each area while I was there to both level up and explore that dreaded check list. I think I will approach revelation differently because I am here for the story and combat and not the fetch quests (for the most part, it doesn't help most of them are bland stories) after I played Yakuza in Hawaii I had the epiphany that that's what this game felt modelled after. I beat the game on dynamic and started hard mode and left it in the grasslands to play other things. Outside the gripes with exploring, I really hated the mandatory games to get that samurai summon. I did all but one as I couldn't get through the final fort condor mission. I fucking hate this mini game and even after watching videos on strats and mimicking them, I got close and that was it. I gave up on it. I'm all for having rewards at the end of mini games but as far as I'm concerned this was a story beat I was locked out of because of this stupid mini game. I'm going to see if putting to normal will allow me to beat it and hopefully continue the story because I'd like to move on and see about getting him. The second time I nearly dropped it was the Roch fight after he becomes a super soldier...man oh man, this was a heavy skill check for me. Now to wait for the final act and then it's dlc :)
