@theanimatedink's review of Resident Evil 3
★★★★★
This game is unfairly underrated and notoriously overhated by a vocal minority on the web. Me personally, after Resident Evil 4, this was the most enjoyable and replayable of the modern RE remake. All the flaws of the RE2 remake (overrated game btw) were rectified in this one. Jill Valentine has more personality than she ever did in the OG and i really liked the more realistic and grounded portrayal they gave her. Carlos is no longer an annoying and cringe stereotype like he was in the original but a very likable guy who has amazing chemistry with Jill. Their chemistry is one of this game's highlights. More than I can say of Leon and Claire in the 2 remake, or, lack thereof more accurately. Theres more enemy variety here than that game, the pacing is fast and even throughout, there is NEVER a dull moment in this game. And the boss fights with Nemesis are epic. High octaine and challenging. Now is this a masterpiece? No, not at all. This game's got flaws. Even I'm not blind to them. I played the original OG 3, it was my first game I played in the series. Do i understand some of the gripes people had with this game? The reasonable ones like the shorter length than the other remakes and how Nemesis couldve better implimented as a pursuer enemy, yes. The others regarding characterizations or how the characters behave or acted? No. People are entitled to their opinions on that subject, even if i think they're wrong. At the end of the day though, this is a REALLY great game. Not a 10/10, not even a 9/10. But 7/10 is about the lowest it deserves. I give it an 8/10 because while its got flaws, the pacing is perfect, the characters are well written and have great chemsitry, theres great boss fights, and its got high replayability with the higher difficulties.
