@zimtiki's review of Rez Infinite

★★★★

Rez Infinite is ACTUALLY a game that came out in the Sega Dreamcast back in the day. Its essentially an on-rails shooter, like Starfox, but it takes place in a computer world, where you’re playing as an evolving program that begins as a few squares and eventually becomes a HUMAN BABY to IMPREGNATE a COMPUTER VIRUS. I think. It’s not explained, but that’s how I interpreted it. The art style of this game is probably why it draws people in. Playing this game in VR feels like warping into the Tron universe and shooting down rampaging computer viruses, it’s SICK. The game is also very musical, as the beats of the music match the chaos that’s happening on screen. Hitting enemies also ramps up the music and takes it from calm to intense. The biggest problem though is that this game is only 5 levels, that each last 10 minutes. This game is SHORT, but, luckily, challenge mode, time attacks, and USER CREATED levels can add to the enjoyment, the user created maps are really a great addition and will keep you playing this for a while. This game has flaws, but it’s also really neat. The artstyle and music choice gives it a mesmerizing vibe that you should check out if you get a chance, it’s really chill.
